Lawrence Medical Center was awarded the 2014 Press Ganey Commitment to Excellence Award on November 3, 2014.
Press Ganey helps hospitals measure the quality of care that it provides to patients. It partners with over 700 hospitals nationwide to ensure that patients are receiving the best care. Lawrence Medical Center achieved this distinction by demonstrating continuous improvement with the greatest improvement in quarterly scores during the two-year award period for Quality.
This award recognizes clients who have continuously outpaced their peers in rates of improvement. One top improver from each category was selected using two years of data from 2012 to 2013. Measures from the 22 active clinical measures from the acute myocardial infarction( heart attack care), heart failure, pneumonia and surgical infection prevention measure sets was used to calculate two overall composite scores for each client respectively for 2012 and 2013. The one client with the highest overall improvement score in each of three bed size segments received the award:
■<100 beds
■100-299
■300+
Through the hard work and dedication from the physicians and staff, Lawrence Medical Center received this national award and will continue to strive to give the people of Lawrence County the best care possible.
